Meet Our Staff
John E. Rogers, Jr.
John E. Rogers, Jr. was born in 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated in 1983 from the University of New Hampshire with a Major in History, and Minors in English and Theology. After college, he moved to the West Coast and found employment as the Probate Law Columnist for the Los Angeles Daily Journal newspaper. He stayed at that post from 1987 to 1999. During that time, he was also the founder and editor of the statewide California Probate News Service. He completed his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1998, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1999. Since that time, he has practiced exclusively in the areas of trusts and estates, conservatorships, guardianships, and probate litigation. He is also an experienced Mental Health (L.P.S.) conservatorship counsel. Mr. Rogers is a frequent speaker on the complexities involved in the role of Court-Appointed Counsel in Probate and Conservatorship cases. He is the 2009-2010 Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
Pat
Pat has worked in conservatorships, probate and trust administration law as a paralegal since 1978.
Pat's extensive experience includes preparing federal estate tax returns and allocating assets
among various trusts in post-death matters. Pat also works extensively with
Caren R. Nielsen on matters relating to elder law. Pat joined the firm in 1997 and is an
active member of the Probate and Trust Section of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association.
Carla
Carla started with the firm in 1981 after being in the legal field since 1978.
After receiving her AA Degree from Pierce College, she began working as a legal secretary.
She later attended Watterson College for paralegal studies and received her paralegal
certificate, specializing in litigation.
She took over the corporate responsibilities for the firm and now divides her time between
estate planning and supervising the entire corporate system.
She recently celebrated her 28th anniversary with the firm.
Eileen
Eileen graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in paralegal studies at the
University of West Los Angeles. Since January 1999 Eileen has been the firm's primary
conservatorship paralegal, handling probate and LPS conservatorships.
She has volunteered at Bet Tzedeck Legal Aid and at the State Attorney General's Office
for Consumer Affairs, primarily focusing on elder abuse. Eileen joined the firm after
a 30-year management career at Pacific Bell.
Karen
Karen graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from UCLA and works as an estate title planning transfer paralegal (specializing in transfers to revocable and irrevocable trusts) and a corporate paralegal. She also handles trust administrations including federal estate tax returns and allocating assets among various trusts in post-death matters. She joined Glantz, Nielsen, Gillin & Scott in 1966.
Aileen
Aileen has been working in the field of aging since 1989 and has joined the firm to assist clients needing care management services. Aileen brings to the firm a wide range of experience gained from her work in conservatorships, long term care facilities, dementia education, and adult day health centers. Aileen received her Master of Social Work degree from USC but is still a UCLA Bruin at heart where she received her B.A. in Psychology.
Dee Dee Levy - Operations Manager
Dee Dee is the Principal of Perspectology ®, a professional services firm providing outsourced operations management services and executive consulting and coaching to multiple companies and individuals. Industry experience includes: legal, insurance, payroll, accounting, mortgage, manufacturing, distribution, tradeshow and association management, retail, and various service industries. Dee Dee is a Certified Professional Coach, received the CPCC designation from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), and a member in good standing of the International Coach Federation (ICF).
Monica
Monica graduated from University of California, Irvine with a BA in Economics and a minor in Sociology. She continued her education and received her Paralegal Certificate through the UCLA Extension program in 2003. Since then, Monica has been working with elder law and focusing in matters relating to conservatorships, probate, and trust administration.
Our Administrative Staff
Andrea
Andrea has over 20 years of executive support experience in the health, insurance and legal fields. She enjoys reading, traveling and baking. On weekends, Andrea volunteers at the SOVA Food Pantry which provides free groceries and supportive resources to families in need.
Darren
Darren attends Pierce College with plans to transfer to California State University at Northridge. In the Summer, he enjoys playing cornhole and bodyboarding. In the Winter, he goes snowboarding. He loves to travel to exotic destinations including Italy and the Caribbean.
We take great pride in our loyal, efficient and knowledgeable accounting staff including Steve and Janis.
